Tailr

Tailr vs Jobscan

A validated rewrite vs a match score

Jobscan built the category: paste your resume and a job description, get a match rate, close the keyword gaps. It is diagnosis. Tailr is the treatment: it rewrites your CV to the posting in your tab in one click, shows you the diff, and then proves the exported PDF is machine-readable by extracting its text the way an ATS would.

Jobscan’s per-ATS tips (Workday, Greenhouse, Taleo) and LinkedIn Optimizer have no Tailr equivalent. If you want a report to guide manual edits, Jobscan is the incumbent. If you want the finished, checked document, that is Tailr.

FAQ

Is Jobscan or Tailr better for getting past the ATS?

They answer different questions. Jobscan scores how well your resume matches a job description and tells you which keywords are missing. Tailr rewrites the CV to the role and then runs a real extraction check with pdftotext on the exported PDF, verifying your name, employers, and sections parse in order. A match score estimates; an extraction check proves.
