How it works

Install, onboard, tailor — without leaving the tab.

01

Install & load your CV once

Add the extension, paste or upload your CV. Onboarding structures it into your one source of truth — clean, ATS-safe, yours to keep.

$ cv_profile.structured ✓ stored
02

Open the posting you care about

LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby. Tailr detects the job — stack, seniority, the skills that matter — and reads it only when you click.

Tailor in the tab

One click. Tailr re-expresses your real bullets for the role, shows you the diff, validates the PDF with pdftotext, and hands you the download.

Why trust it

The three things every other AI resume tool gets wrong.

never invented

It refuses to add things you didn’t do.

Every line in a tailored CV traces back to your real one. Tailr re-orders, re-weights, and re-phrases what’s already true — and declines, out loud, to bolt on a skill or metric you never had. You see the before/after diff.

ats-validated

You watch the ATS read it.

Every export is run through pdftotext and checked field-by-field — name, every employer, every section, in order. If a line isn’t machine-readable, Tailr tells you instead of shipping a PDF that silently fails the parser.

honest pricing

No trial-trap. One-click cancel.

Load your CV and see a sample with no card. A card only when you start the trial — and cancellation is one click from your dashboard, always visible. No auto-converting dark patterns, no mystery billing descriptor.

Built for engineers

It actually understands a software CV.

Tailr knows backend isn’t frontend isn’t ML. It reads the posting’s real stack and seniority, then surfaces the work that matches — emphasising scale, latency, reliability, ownership, and shipping velocity the way a hiring engineer reads for them. Clean single-column LaTeX out, Overleaf-ready.

  • Detects role archetype: backend · frontend · full-stack · ML/research · data · SRE · mobile
  • Mirrors the posting’s real keywords — only where your CV supports them
  • Quantifies from your source, never fabricates a metric
  • Single-column, T1 + glyphtounicode → copy-paste-clean text layer
  • Export LaTeX or a validated PDF

Pricing

Cheaper and cleaner than the $29–49 incumbents.

Best value

Tailr Pro

For an active job search.

€12/month

~€0.24 per tailor at 50/mo

  • 50 tailored CVs every month
  • Live pdftotext ATS validation on every export
  • Before/after diff — we re-express, never invent
  • Overleaf-ready LaTeX export
  • Multiple base-CV profiles
  • One-click cancel, always visible

Pay-as-you-go

Occasional use, no subscription.

€8/ 10 credits

€0.80 per tailor

  • 10 tailoring credits, never expire
  • Same ATS validation + diff
  • Same Overleaf export
  • No recurring charge

Honest noteHonestly: this is worse value per tailor than Pro. We keep it for people who tailor a handful of times a year and would rather not subscribe. If you are actively job-hunting, Pro is cheaper.

Every plan: live pdftotext ATS validation, the before/after diff, and one-click cancel from your dashboard. No auto-converting trial-trap, no confusing billing descriptor.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Does it make things up?

No — that’s the whole point. Tailr only re-expresses what’s already on your CV and refuses to invent experience, skills, employers, dates, or numbers. The before/after diff shows you exactly what changed.

Will the PDF pass the ATS?

Every export is validated by extracting its text with pdftotext and checking that your name, every employer, and every section are machine-readable in order. We compile single-column LaTeX with proper Unicode mapping so the text layer is clean.

What happens to my CV and the job posting?

They’re sent to our backend, which uses Anthropic’s Claude to generate the tailored version. They are not used to train any model. See the Privacy Policy for retention and sub-processors.

How does billing work?

A free trial that requires a card, converting to Tailr Pro (€12/mo). There’s also a worse-value pay-as-you-go credit pack for occasional use. Cancel in one click from your dashboard — no auto-converting trial-trap.

Which job boards work?

LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Indeed, Glassdoor, Wellfound, and most company career pages. Tailr reads the posting from the tab you’re on when you click.
